Introduction to Safeguarding (Children & Adults)

Wednesday 9th September 2026: 10:00am to 12:00pm

Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility- including any size VCSE organisation/group. During this session you will learn the foundations and fundamentals of safeguarding adults and children. Vital learning to help keep children and adults at risk safe in our work and communities. This foundation training session will start you on your journey to becoming safeguarding aware and poised for further, more in depth training in the future.

What you will learn:

  • How to spot and respond efficiently to safeguarding concerns.
  • Safeguarding responsibilities.
  • Types of abuse and their indicators.
  • How to be professionally curious to better support vulnerable people.
  • How to raise a concern with the local authority safeguarding teams.
  • How to be aware of confidentiality and data protection, without this being a barrier to good safeguarding practice.

Who should apply?

VCSE staff and volunteers who need a safeguarding refresh or have not previously had safeguarding input.
